Journaling Ideas
Complete this sentence “I used to be ____, now I’m ____.”
Write entries for previous months or years.
Revisit previous entries and go into more detail.
Make a list of short term and long term goals.
Make a list of accomplishments you’ve achieved this past week, month or year.
Write a gratitude list.
Add images.
Take a picture with words (describe what you’re wearing, listening to, what you’re writing with, the weather, light, etc.).
A detailed description of someone important to you.
Play with the Process
Find a “jump-start topic” that’s easy write about to use to start your entries - workout, diet, project, weather, news headlines.
Sit in a place where you don’t usually journal.
Try switching modalities - (toggle between digital to handwritten).
Try switching tenses - toggle between present and past.
Write in the third person, in the voice of someone observing you.
